Better to Have Loved & Lost, or Not?

Sometimes I wonder. I understand the principal behind loving and losing verses never loving. However, there are times when it just doesn't seem worth it. When your heart is broken in a thousand pieces. You can lose focus on yourself, your own priorities, and get to the point where you don't even care anymore. Life's just not worth living, right?

It makes you think. Was it really worth it? All for a prospect of a perfect love and a short-term happiness? What was your state beforehand? Did it do you damage? Are you less of a person? Less content, less focussed on positive steps in your life now? I think that goes equally to those still in love, too. Are you caring more about them than your own happiness?

Love's a confusing game sometimes, and often looks like a lose-lose situation. Why is it that we let ourselves get lost in it like that? What is so awesome, so important about it that it can give us our greatest joy or our most drastic defeat?

I think there's three angles that this comes from.

1) Our own love for ourselves. Often we feel we need another to love us, another to care for us, because we feel so alone. We need someone to up our spirits and confidence, because we are not capable of doing so ourselves. This creates a dependance that makes the possible break up all that much worse. Probably a large cause in why there are so many failed relationships, because we jump from one to another to try and find that happiness we believe we cannot find alone.

2) We were created to love, and from love. God created us with such a love for us that we hunger for it from others, and we were created with an urge to give that love too. When you look at everything that is God, it all is surrounded by love. It is the most important aspect of Him, and following Him. Without it, the rest is merely legalism or greed. Thusly, with such an urge so imbedded into us, how can we ignore the need to let it out? When we are then rejected of the love we feel we need to give, we are devastated because love is in the very fibre of our beings. We breathe it by nature.

3) As sort of hinted at above, God loves us. It is so easy to desire to find that kind of love from another human being on this earth because we want a physical love. Someone to hold us when we're upset or make us laugh when our spirits are down. Without realizing that all we have to do is look to Him. We don't need that physical one, it's only a human short-sighted desire. God is our reason to live, be happy, take care of ourselves, go forward in life, etc...everything that our mate is supposed to bring out in us, right? Best part, God never leaves us. There's no cheating or abuse, no fear that they will find another or walk away. He's always there, and always willing to take us back when we stray. He's the perfect mate. Yet so many overlook Him in the search for physical bliss. In doing so, we head to almost certain destruction because no human can offer that love He gives us which we crave.

I think one of the biggest revelations I've had in regards to a broken heart, is realizing that it's a blessing. To love someone so much that we hurt when we lose them is wonderful, it's a touch of God's love that we can experience. Rather than fighting it we need to embrace it, realize it's a part of our very being to feel this. It's an honor to love, and to be able to walk away with our heads high knowing that we do so. Just don't let it destroy you, let it empower you instead.

Love everyone, without fear of hurt. Love, knowing you are always loved by the One who is greatest. Love yourself. Love life.

Hey Everyone,

I found this news story on Yahoo and thought I'd share. It's the ten of the best April Fools pranks in history. Some of them are really amazing, especially when you consider people believed them. Rofl. I have to say that my favorites are the first and the last ones. Enjoy!

Here are 10 of the top April Fool's Day pranks ever pulled off, as judged by the San Diego-based Museum of Hoaxes for their notoriety, absurdity, and number of people duped.

-- In 1957, a BBC television show announced that thanks to a mild winter and the virtual elimination of the spaghetti weevil, Swiss farmers were enjoying a bumper spaghetti crop. Footage of Swiss farmers pulling strands of spaghetti from trees prompted a barrage of calls from people wanting to know how to grow their own spaghetti at home.

-- In 1985, Sports Illustrated magazine published a story that a rookie baseball pitcher who could reportedly throw a ball at 270 kilometers per hour (168 miles per hour) was set to join the New York Mets. Finch was said to have mastered his skill -- pitching significantly faster than anyone else has ever managed -- in a Tibetan monastery. Mets fans' celebrations were short-lived.

-- Sweden in 1962 had only one television channel, which broadcast in black and white. The station's technical expert appeared on the news to announce that thanks to a newly developed technology, viewers could convert their existing sets to receive color pictures by pulling a nylon stocking over the screen. In fact, they had to wait until 1970.

-- In 1996, American fast-food chain Taco Bell announced that it had bought Philadelphia's Liberty Bell, a historic symbol of American independence, from the federal government and was renaming it the Taco Liberty Bell.

Outraged citizens called to express their anger before Taco Bell revealed the hoax. Then-White House press secretary Mike McCurry was asked about the sale and said the Lincoln Memorial in Washington had also been sold and was to be renamed the Ford Lincoln Mercury Memorial after the automotive giant.

-- In 1977, British newspaper The Guardian published a seven-page supplement for the 10th anniversary of San Serriffe, a small republic located in the Indian Ocean consisting of several semicolon-shaped islands. A series of articles described the geography and culture of the two main islands, named Upper Caisse and Lower Caisse.

-- In 1992, US National Public Radio announced that Richard Nixon was running for president again. His new campaign slogan was, "I didn't do anything wrong, and I won't do it again." They even had clips of Nixon announcing his candidacy. Listeners flooded the show with calls expressing their outrage. Nixon's voice actually turned out to be that of impersonator Rich Little.

-- In 1998, a newsletter titled New Mexicans for Science and Reason carried an article that the state of Alabama had voted to change the value of pi from 3.14159 to the "Biblical value" of 3.0.

-- Burger King, another American fast-food chain, published a full-page advertisement in USA Today in 1998 announcing the introduction of the "Left-Handed Whopper," specially designed for the 32 million left-handed Americans. According to the advertisement, the new burger included the same ingredients as the original, but the condiments were rotated 180 degrees. The chain said it received thousands of requests for the new burger, as well as orders for the original "right-handed" version.

-- Discover Magazine announced in 1995 that a highly respected biologist, Aprile Pazzo (Italian for April Fool), had discovered a new species in Antarctica: the hotheaded naked ice borer. The creatures were described as having bony plates on their heads that became burning hot, allowing the animals to bore through ice at high speed -- a technique they used to hunt penguins.

-- Noted British astronomer Patrick Moore announced on the radio in 1976 that at 9:47 am, a once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event, in which Pluto would pass behind Jupiter, would cause a gravitational alignment that would reduce the Earth's gravity. Moore told listeners that if they jumped in the air at the exact moment of the planetary alignment, they would experience a floating sensation. Hundreds of people called in to report feeling the sensation.

Prayers Needed

Hi Everyone,

I just learned today that my doctor's (Who is a family friend and has known me litterally from the minute I was born) son was involved in an avalanche accident a week or two ago. I don't know very much in the way of details, but he is in serious condition. He's only a few years older than me, too.

Please pray for both Ari, and his father Terry, as they go through this struggle. I just hope that Ari will survive, his father is so very proud of him and it must be killing him.

I think my brain is going to explode

Hey Everyone,

Long time no post, eh? I've been so busy over the past while with life and such that it's been the last thing on my mind. I have so much else to do when I'm online, also.

I just spent hours studying on my corrispondance course. I'm currently doing Canadian History. I don't mind History, actually. But I've never been good with names. I'm more likely to remember the date than what happened or who did it on that date. You know what makes this worse? It's currently the French part of Canadian history. All about France's accomplishes. That means so many names and places are French. I have a hard enough time remembeing English names, thank you very much. Now I have to remember names I can barely pronounce, let alone spell! After studying, my head litterally felt like it would explode. So much brain excersize. So much cramming in of specific things. THe scary part? It was only a 6 page chapter I did today. *Falls over* At least it feels good to be accomplishing something again, though. I always did enjoy studying. Especially school.

On a different, and frustrating note: My pre-ordered copy of The Sims 2 - Seasons came in the mail today. *Squeals with glee* I pre-ordered it 20 days before the release date (Which was Feb 27th) and after several days of being out of stock, i finally got it. I've been so incredibly excited about this expansion pack for the longest time. Since I first heard about it. I'm a Sims 2 enthusiast. I play it whenever I can find the time. It's such a relaxing escape from the stresses of life for me. My poor mom has had to deal with almost non-stop ranting and raving about this expansion pack the whole wait. Why am I frustrated now I finally have it, you ask?

Because I made a promise to myself (which I told others) that I wouldn't install it untill I got the first History exam finished. *whacks her head on a various object* At the time I said that, I should have been finished the exam last week. Things happened and my studies got pushed aside for a week or so, and now I'm behind. So now I have another chapter plus review left before I can even fill out my answers. -.- And the game..is in reach. Right beside my system unit. Right under the drawer of my desk. On the little shelf. And I can't install it for at 'least' a day or two, if I apply myself. So...Tempting.

My New Xanga

Hey Everyone,

I know I haven't posted here in forever, but I've been so busy. Trying to keep up on updating Crimson Sky Graphics, whenever I have a chance. Plus I've gotten back into studying my high school course. Plus game time. Plus my bible related research/study. <.<..Plus anything else. Point being, been busy.

Wanted to say that I've got another Xanga. No, that does not mean that this one will not be used. It's simply that I wanted to have a second one for more specific posts to do with my spirituality and revelations in that realm of things. I'd really appreciate it if those of you who read this, and are interested, could go and check it out. I'll paste the link below, plus I'll be adding it along the side, in my links section. I felt that I'd love to attract those who are interested in that kind of discussion, but doing it here would be hard because half of my posts are about unrelated things. I know that if I'm looking for a certain subject to read about, I'll turn away if it's hard to find anything 'about' that subject on a site that claims to be about it. If that made sense. o.O
